Aristotle is quoted as saying, “We are what we repeatedly do.

Excellence then, is not an act but a habit.”

In law enforcement the vast majority of our incidents and responses involve one or two officers dealing with a single event which usually comes out in a positive way.  Occasionally that “simple” incident gets very complicated or an incident occurs that requires a large response of Officers.  At that point training, experience, and proficiency in incident command are essential skills for the responding law enforcement officers.

We must repeatedly train on and practice with and use the incident command system to avoid CHAOS when bad things happen.

The Incident Commander (Deputy Police Chief) consults with the Medical Supervisor in the Command Post.

Please contact the Incident Management Team to schedule an OurTown Incident Command event in your community.  OurTown classes can include a single agency or multiple agencies which will bring together all the response partners.
