"Tell me and I may forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand."

Ben Franklin

Hospitals and Health Departments throughout the nation are learning and preparing to use The Incident Command System.  As active participants in the command process and as the lead agency for some incidents, the Health Department is a critical partner in the community incident command process.

The Federal Government through the Department of Homeland Security mandates the adoption and use of The National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS).  Hospitals and Health Departments must not only learn ICS but also become proficient in its use.

The OurTown Diorama Incident Command Simulator is an ideal means to gain that incident command experience in a positive learning environment.
