"To do things right on a regular basis, experience is the best teacher;

Absent experience, all you have to rely on is training".

In the fire service in America , the statistics show that about 95 percent of emergency calls can be handled by an incident commander and a small assignment of responders and equipment.  We are not getting the experience with medium and large incidents to become highly proficient at commanding this type of event.  This is good for the community and not so good when an incident becomes chaotic due to lack of that experience.  Building an effective incident command structure takes training (classroom and hands on practice) and experience.

The OurTown Diorama Incident Command Simulator

The OurTown Diorama Incident Command Simulator gives responders both the training and the experience.

Please contact the Incident Management Team to schedule an OurTown Incident Command event in your community.  OurTown classes can include a single agency or multiple agencies which will bring together all the response partners.
