Chief John Bierling and Chief David Love have a combined emergency service experience of more than 80 years.  Throughout their careers they have worked in every phase of the fire and emergency service administrative and response areas of expertise.

As retired fire chiefs they have a complete understanding of the management and leadership needs of the modern emergency response organization.  They have participated in the emergency management and planning side of emergency preparedness and have served on numerous national committees. They both teach at National Fire Academy.

 

Fire Chief John J. Bierling, EFO (Retired):

John has been actively teaching emergency responders for 35 years and currently travels throughout the country teaching incident management and leadership to emergency responders from all the disciplines.  John has a Bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City .  He has long experience with both the Career and Volunteer emergency response communities and has a complete understanding of the leadership and management needs of all emergency responders.

 

Fire Chief David A. Love, Jr. (Retired):

Dave is currently a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and The International Society of Fire Service Instructors.  He is a 1979 graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College and serves as a Senior Fire Instructor for the State of Pennsylvania .  He continues to conduct seminars on various Fire Service related topics throughout the United States , and internationally, most recently in Iceland . He has served on the Fire Service Advisory Board for Harrisburg Area Community College , liaison to the Regional Terrorist Taskforce and serves currently on the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Service Occupational Safety and Health.
